Sutton ‘looking good’ for return

PROP Luke Sutton is pushing to be involved in Oldham’s key game at Blackpool on Sunday.
Roughyeds will need as much pack power as they can assemble for this second-v-third Championship One clash at Fylde RU Club.
Aussie-reared Sutton has not played since he tweaked a knee ligament in Oldham’s 40-26 home win against the Panthers on June 6.
For the past three weeks, however, he has had his sights set on the return match at the Memorial Ground, and his comeback moved closer when he was given the all-clear to play earlier this week.
“Luke’s looking good,” said coach Tony Benson in confirming that Sutton and half-back Matty Ashe will be added to the squad which beat Swinton Lions 42-30 last time out.
Craig Robinson is still sidelined with an upper back injury, while young forward Chris Clarke will face a late fitness test on a knee which has been causing him problems over the last few days.
“Everyone else is fine, but I need to establish whether Clarkey is going to be OK before I finalise the side,” added Benson.
“Sutton and Ashe will both be in contention. I had close to a full squad training this week, so I will have some decisions to make.”
