OLDHAM’S reserve match at Barrow, scheduled for this Saturday, has been called off.

Raiders are propping up the 2010 Reserves Championship with one draw from only nine matches played and told Roughyeds officials yesterday that they cannot raise a team for the game.

John Hough’s Oldham side are currently third in a tight battle for play-off spots at the head of the division and clarification is now being sought as to what will happen, points-wise.

The usual default result in such a situation is 18-0 but if the Roughyeds were handed that scoreline, then it wouldn’t have much benefit on their points difference and playing the game would be a preferred option.

The first team take on South Wales Scorpions at the Whitebank Stadium on Sunday (3pm) and the main injury concerns at present are Luke Sutton (knee) and Neil Roden (back).

Meanwhile, Co-operative Championship One rivals Blackpool are up before the RFL today following an investigation into alleged financial irregularities at the West Coast club.
