Roughyeds have final off to a ‘T’
Date published: 17 September 2010
ROUGHYEDS have recognised the club’s magnificent achievement in reaching the Championship One Grand Final for the fourth year in a row by selling specially-designed Grand Final T-shirts.
All red, they carry the message on the front: “Oldham RLFC — annual end-of-season trip”. Wording on the back reads: “2010 Warrington, 2009 Warrington, 2008 Warrington, 2007 Leeds”.
These are references, of course, to the Roughyeds’ Grand Final appearances against Featherstone Rovers in 2007 at Headingley and against Doncaster and Keighley Cougars respectively at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in 2008 and 2009.
For the first time this year, Roughyeds have two weeks to prepare for the final at the Halliwell Jones on September 26 (3.05pm kick off) against York City Knights or Blackpool Panthers, who battle it out at York on Sunday for the right to take on Tony Benson’s boys.
“We’ve had the time this year to commission special
T-shirts which reflect how well Roughyeds have done to reach four Grand Finals running,” said club commercial manager Rachael Marsters (pictured).
“That alone is a terrific record — and one which deserves some recognition — no matter what happens in this year’s final.”
The shirts cost £12.99 from the Roughyeds’ office: info 628 3677.
