John happy to hook up with Oldham

OLDHAM Roughyeds’ restructuring programme continued today with the capture on a one-year contract of former Salford, Leigh and Blackpool hooker John Clough.
The 26-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the ill-fated Blackpool club and is looking to relaunch his career.
"John knows pretty well all there is to know about the hooking role," said Roughyeds chairman Chris Hamilton.
"We are delighted to sign him. He will be a more-than-useful addition to the squad."
Clough played 17 Super League games for Salford between 2004 and 2006 and has since had a short spell at London Broncos as well as a one-season stay with Leigh.
More recently he has been playing under former Oldham Bears captain Martin Crompton at now-defunct club Blackpool.
"We put in a lot of hard work and had some success," said Clough, a former Blackbrook amateur, of his time with the Panthers. "It was a shame it had to end in such unsatisfactory circumstances.
"Oldham is a good club with a good reputation and I'm looking forward to the new start it will give me.”
