Winger’s brace in vain for reserves

SHAUN Robinson scored two tries at Keighley last night — but the winger’s efforts were to no avail as Roughyeds reserves slipped to a 28-22 defeat in a pre-season friendly.
Half-back Jamie Dallimore and substitute winger Terry Bridge also scored tries for Oldham, while Dallimore kicked three conversions from four attempts.
Trailing 16-6 at half-time, Roughyeds rallied strongly in the second half with prop Liam Gilchrist leading from the front and showing that he had recovered completely from a hamstring injury.
Coach John Hough said: “We were heavily penalised, and we didn’t react the way I hoped we would. We also need to address the fact that we conceded 28 points.
“ It was our first defeat in three pre-season games and we’ve a week now in which to get ready for our opening league game at York next Thursday.”
