Robinson struggling to walk unaided

IN-FORM winger Shaun Robinson, who may have torn a thigh muscle, is Oldham RL Club's latest injury victim.

He is struggling to walk unaided and is said to be "highly unlikely" to be ready for Sunday's clash with Doncaster at the Whitebank Stadium (3pm).

That could give coach Tony Benson a headache, given that John Gillam is a long-term casualty and that backs Matthew Fogarty and Marcus St Hilaire are also doubtful.

Back-row forward Andy Isherwood, who damaged his collar bone against Rochdale, is definitely out and among the players in for fitness checks before the side is announced will be Chris Clarke (shoulder), Lucas Onyango (knee), Paul Noone (bicep) and Martin Roden (elbow and shoulder).

Ben Wood, who was badly shaken in a collision at Whitehaven on Monday, is expected to get the all-clear.

Said coach Tony Benson: "Lucas played at Whitehaven with his knee heavily strapped, and he seemed to come through okay. He is suffering a little bit from an old injury, but I would say he has a good chance.

"Paul Noone and Martin Roden are reasonably optimistic and I think Chris Clarke has a decent chance of making it, but until I know exactly who is okay and who isn't I can't possibly name a team or even a squad.

"All I can say is that whoever turns out in Oldham colours on Sunday will be up for the challenge and determined to put on a good show."
