Big prop reserves tonic
Date published: 09 September 2011
BIG Bruce Johnson, sidelined for nearly three months with a serious finger injury, returns to action in the Roughyeds’ reserves top-two play-off game against Widnes Vikings at Widnes RU club (2.30pm kick-off) tomorrow.
The former Widnes and Swinton prop joined Oldham at the end of May, having played little rugby for nearly a year, and starred in three reserve-team wins against Keighley, Halifax and Sheffield.
Tomorrow’s winners go straight through to the final, which will be played at Whitebank in the event of an Oldham win and at Widnes if the Vikings win.
The losing team will get a second chance at home against the outright winners of the four teams finishing third to sixth inclusive.
