Oldham expect fans in force for top battle
Date published: 28 March 2012
OLDHAM RL, early leaders of Championship One, are hoping for their best Whitebank crowd in 18 months for the visit of Barrow Raiders on Sunday (3pm).
"The buzz around the club and the feedback we are getting from the public lead us to believe our fans are up for this one," said chairman Chris Hamilton.
This year's average would have to double to match the Whitebank record of 1,275 for a play-off tie against York City Knights at the end of the 2010 season.
Barrow took hundreds of fans to Wrexham on their last away day when they scraped home 26-24 against North Wales Crusaders, watched by a crowd of 1,503.
And Roughyeds are hopeful of four figures for a first v second battle which will most likely leave only one club in a 10-team division with a 100 per cent record after three games.
