OLDHAM RL Club coach Tony Benson is set to welcome back captain Neil Roden for Sunday’s trip to North Wales Crusaders.
The 31-year-old is over a thigh muscle injury and, despite battling a virus this week, he came through an intensive work-out at training last night.
Lucas Onyango, Shaun Robinson and Paul Smith are also in with a chance of featuring this weekend.
Benson said: “It’s been a tough time for Neil because he recovered from his injury but then spent all week being quite poorly. He was pretty weak when he reported for training but it was a tough session and he came through it unscathed, so he is the only player we have definitely got back.
“Lucas, Paul and Shaun might be available, but if they are only close and not 100-per-cent it is unlikely that we will take the risk on them.”
Benson was pelased with the training workout: “They have had some time off and I could definitely see they had benefited. It’s not as if all of them could get away on holiday but just being away from their routine and recharging their batteries made a big difference.”
