Oldham pair ready to resume
Date published: 07 June 2012
First-team players prop Bruce Johnson and back-row man Jamie Acton return from injury in the Oldham RL reserves team to play Halifax at Whitebank tonight (7.45pm kick-off).
Also back is forward, Mark Thomas – out for several weeks for tests for a stomach disorder.
"To have these three knocking on the door again will make a massive difference," said coach Paul Ashton, whose injury-hit and below-strength under-23s were beaten 84-16 at Featherstone last time out.
Roughyeds will be keen to avenge Halifax’s 22-14 win at Whitebank five weeks ago.
Added Ashton: “It’s not rocket science. We just need to complete our sets and make sure we don’t give penalties away. If we do that, everything else will slot into shape.”
Phil Costin’s under-18s play Halifax at Whitebank on Saturday (2.30pm).
