Oldham's amateur youth plan
Date published: 17 July 2012
OLDHAM RL Club is planning an amateur club for boys and girls aged six-11 inclusive, as well as adults keen to help.
An open meeting will be held at the Whitebank social club on Friday (6.30pm), to explain the details.
The club is looking for adults — parents of participating children or otherwise — to fill a range of volunteer roles such as committee members or coaches, first-aid personnel and touchline managers.
All training will be covered by the club.
Friday's meeting is open to everyone. People can also contact Janet at the Roughyeds office on 0161 628 3677.
Roughyeds will be checking on the fitness of Miles Greenwood and Paul Noone when coach Tony Benson begins preparations this evening for Sunday's game in Neath (3pm) against South Wales Scorpions.
Noone, who was out for weeks after damaging the ankle in the 20-20 draw at London Skolars in April, had more treatment on it during Sunday's 25-24 win against Skolars at Whitebank, but returned to the field later. Greenwood played the full game despite a sore back.
