Oldham step up search for new coach

OLDHAM RL's search for a new head coach is gathering pace.
Applications close on Friday, after which club chairman Chris Hamilton will draw up a short list for interview.
The club is seeking a qualified coach who is "enthusiastic, hard-working and ambitious".
"We've had a good response," said the Roughyeds' chief. “Applications are coming in all the time, and that's reassuring."
The new man will succeed Tony Benson, who had been in charge for four years.
Like Benson, he will start his tenure with the club in the sport's third tier – and desperate to get out of it.
Weekend opponents Workington are still coming to terms with their shock defeat by Oldham which is likely to cost them the £50,000 prize for finishing top.
Their chairman Dave Bawden was, nevertheless, gracious in defeat.
He described the Roughyeds' performance as "outstanding" and praised Roughyeds' fight to maintain professional rugby league in Oldham,
