Oldham chiefs plan for future
Date published: 27 September 2012
CHRIS Hamilton and Scott Naylor will begin the task of reviving Oldham RL fortunes.
Player recruitment will top an extensive agenda likely to occupy the chairman and his newly-appointed coach.
Neil Roden is the only player already under contract for 2013, so Naylor must first make a list of players from last season to retain.
He has spent a week studying DVD footage of every game from last season, while also calling in favours from his network of contacts in the hope of bringing in new signings.
The nucleus of the squad will probably come from players at Whitebank in 2012, hopefully including the talented younger end.
The process of selecting and appointing Naylor's No. 2, in which Martin Roden has at least one competitor, will also be a high priority.
Said chairman Hamilton: "Scott is a big believer in doing his homework and he has certainly done lots of it since he was appointed.”
