Flyer Mo wings way to Oldham
Date published: 30 October 2012
OLDHAM RL's number of backs signed on for 2013 has risen to six with the capture of former Leeds Rhinos winger Mo Agoro.
Agoro (19) is the third young player to join Roughyeds as a result of the RFL's restructuring of age-related rugby at Super League clubs.
Agoro is the latest of several Leeds players in the past two seasons to be pointed in Oldham's direction by former Watersheddings star Barrie McDermott, head of youth development at the Super League club.
Championship clubs Sheffield Eagles and Dewsbury Rams had also talked to the player or his agent, but it was Oldham who got him on a one-year deal after the player's talks with club chairman Chris Hamilton.
Said Agoro: "I took into account what Barrie (McDermott) said of Oldham, and the club seemed really keen to sign me, so here I am. It's a new challenge for me after three years at Leeds. I can't wait to get started."
