Naylor’s praise for Oldham effort

WHAT a difference two weeks can make.
Scott Naylor’s concern over Oldham’s sub-standard play in a narrow home defeat by Oxford was replaced optimism after the 30-12 win at Hemel Hempstead.
Describing his side’s all-round contribution on attack and defence as “very good”, Naylor said he was pleased that four of the six Oldham tries were scored by his wingers - three to Dale Bloomfield on the left and the other to Mo Agoro on the opposite flank.
He said: “We spoke after the Oxford game about playing with more freedom and we did exactly that, scoring some nice tries, six in total, and defending with urgency when they had the ball.
“It was good to see the wingers scoring tries and finishing off good work by the forwards and the half-backs.
“All the props and both hookers, Kenny Hughes and Adam Files, were absolutely outstanding. They took us forward and set up good attacking positions, which we turned into points.
“After our defeat by Oxford it was always going to be a tough ask for us in Hertfordshire against an in-form team lying second in the division, but we coped admirably.”
