Hospital check for Whitmore

OLDHAM are awaiting x-ray results on the damaged arm which forced Danny Whitmore’s early withdrawal from the game against Gateshead Thunder at Whitebank.
He was led from the field and later went to hospital as a precautionary measure.
“He was in a lot of pain, but we didn’t think the arm was broken,” said coach Scott Naylor. “He went for x-rays just to be on the safe side.
Naylor went on: “If the x-rays show his arm isn’t broken, there is probably no reason why he can’t be available for next Sunday’s game.”
Oldham otherwise came through the game injury free.
The win moved them up to fourth place in Kingstone Press Championship One, four points behind leaders North Wales Crusaders and only two behind second-placed Hemel Stags, with a game in hand.
Only the unbeaten leaders have conceded fewer points than Oldham's 74 and have a better points difference, 127 against the Roughyeds’ 80.
