Matthew Haggarty has brought Scott Naylor’s seven-week chase to an end by signing for Roughyeds on loan.
Haggarty, the 22-year-old Barrow Raiders prop or second-row forward, has signed for a month.
He made his Oldham debut off the bench in the match at Oxford, which Oldham won 22-4.
Naylor said: “I’ve been hunting him for a few weeks, so I’m naturally delighted he’s finally here.
“I have known Matthew for a while and we know what he is capable of. The more rugby he gets the better he will play.”
Haggarty was one of four forwards on the bench alongside loan player Nathan Mason.
Naylor’s men could go top of the table by beat South Wales at Whitebank next Sunday — league leaders Crusaders have a blank weekend.
