Roughyeds to make friendly call

OLDHAM RL Club hope to know soon whether they have been successful in finding friendly opposition to keep their squad match-fit for the play-offs.
Chairman Chris Hamilton believes he might have been successful in his quest to keep Roughyeds’ players in match trim. Oldham’s next big game won’t be until the middle of September.
“We’re looking for competitive opposition and we expect to know something one way or the other in the next couple of days,” he said.
The Roughyeds’ neck-and-neck race with North Wales Crusaders for the Championship One title looks like it is going to the final game of the season, September 1, when Crusaders end their season with a home game against South Wales Scorpions.
Oldham could theoretically take the title this weekend - if Crusaders lose to London Skolars by 13 points or more; 12 points or fewer and a bonus point would see them need to win their last game.
A Crusaders win on Friday would put them within touching distance of promotion, one point behind Roughyeds with a home game still to come.
