Oldham set up Leigh friendly
Date published: 23 August 2013
OLDHAM RL Club’s preparations for the Championship One play-offs will include a friendly against Leigh Centurions’ academy side at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday week, September 1 (12.45pm).
The Leigh side will comprise mainly young players, but with a sprinkling of senior men not required for first-team duty.
Admission prices and other relevant information will be announced early next week.
The friendly will be a curtain-raiser to the Leigh v Dewsbury game.
Oldham skipper Lewis Palfrey (stand-off) and his team-mate Danny Langtree (second row) are named in the Championship One team of the week.
The division’s player of the week is London Skolars scrum-half Dylan Skee, who will be a key figure in the crucial clash in North London tonight against North Wales Crusaders.
If Crusaders lose by more than 12 points Oldham will be crowned champions and will win automatic promotion.
Any other result and the title will depend on the outcome of the North Wales v South Wales showdown in Wrexham on September 1.
