Three-point plan for Roughyeds
Date published: 18 April 2014
SCOTT Naylor’s Oldham went into today’s Kingstone Press Championship One top of the table clash at Hunslet Hawks with three targets.
The ultimate goal was to win by more than 12 points, to overtake Hawks and go top of the table with a game in hand. Next was to extend their record as the only team in the division still unbeaten, and third was to avenge a 36-10 defeat this time last year.
Naylor was only six games into his first job as a head coach and all but four of the 17 players used were new to the club and still finding their feet.
A dozen of them were in line to have another crack at the Hawks today — Mo Agoro, David Cookson, Dale Bloomfield, Lewis Palfrey, Jason Boults, Adam Files, Phil Joy, Josh Crowley, Danny Langtree, Mark Hobson, Kenny Hughes and Sam Gee.
