OLDHAM did not play Adam Files at Hunslet because he suffered a setback in training after keyhole surgery on a damaged knee.
His rehabilitation had been going well - so much so that coach Scott Naylor felt there was a chance of the young hooker being available for selection in the clash with the Hawks.
It didn’t happen — and club and player are now back to square one.
Naylor explained: “He was coming along nicely but started to have problems. He has started to have problems which suggests there is still something wrong.”
There were no new injuries in the game, in which Oldham suffered their first defeat of the season.
York’s narrow 30-26 win at Gateshead pushed Roughyeds into third place, five points behind Hunslet and two behind York, but with a game in hand on the leaders.
Oldham’s next match is at Whitebank on Sunday week, May 4 (3pm) against fifth-placed Oxford.
