Oldham eyes on new recruits
Date published: 23 July 2014
OLDHAM RL hope to bolster their injury-hit squad with at least one addition as they prepare for Sunday’s top-three clash with Hunslet Hawks at Whitebank (3pm).
Mo Agoro (knee), Nathan Mason (stomach muscle), Kenny Hughes (ankle) and Jon Ford (chest infection) missed last Sunday’s 54-12 defeat at York.
They remain doubtful for this weekend and they have now been joined on the casualty list by Ben Wood (shin), Dale Bloomfield (dead leg) and Edwin Okanga-Ajwang (viral infection).
“We’re on the look-out for reinforcements, but I’ve nothing more to say on that at the moment,” said coach Scott Naylor.
Up to a few weeks ago, Oldham had their full complement of loan players, but the departure of Alex Davidson to North Wales Crusaders and Steve Roper’s elevation to fully-fledged Oldham player, gives Naylor the opportunity to scour the loan market with room for two on his roster.
He took the precaution a couple of weeks ago of adding to his outside backs by signing former Barrow winger Adam Clay on a short-term deal to the end of the season.
