Surgery fear for Palfrey

A SCAN has revealed Oldham RL Club skipper Lewis Palfrey may need surgery to repair a hernia.
He played with the injury at the tail end of the season, but club and player hope he will be fully fit for the start of the 2015 campaign in March.
“It’s only a small tear and I don’t want to have an operation if intense and sustained rehab will put it right,” said 24-year-old Palfrey, who damaged an abdominal muscle in training and missed the last few weeks of prep and pre-season warm-ups.
The players start pre-season training again on November 18. Added Palfrey: “Whatever the verdict is, it’s better that I know now and that whatever needs to be done is done as quickly as possible.
Work on recruitment has continued over the weekend and more signings are expected in the next few days.
