LEWIS PALFREY: surgery
LEWIS Palfrey’s hernia surgery went well and the Oldham skipper remains on track to be fit for the start of the 2015 season in early March.
Coach Scott Naylor said: “I’ve spoken to Lewis and he is still very sore, but overall everything went as well as can be expected and he’s now into the six-week recovery period.
“He was such a strong lad before his surgery so that will help over the next few weeks.
“Everybody is still hopeful he’ll be okay in time for the first game of the season against Coventry (March 1).
“We’ve missed Lewis during pre-season, and he’s missed us I think. He’s definitely the kind of player who just wants to be out here with the rest of the lads.
“We’ll start integrating him back into the training sessions as soon as possible. I’m sure we’ll see him over the next couple of weeks.”
