Man of steel Chris collects his prize

Rugby Oldham’s “man of steel” for 2014 Chris Hough received his winners’ prize at the Oldham v Rochdale game at Whitebank.
The former Hornets and Oldham RL player accepted a cheque for £500 from Rugby Oldham chairman Geoff Cooke.
As player-coach of Waterhead for part of last season, Hough scored the most man of steel nominations made by the opposition at the end of each league game.
The other nominees were Dale Lowe (now of Saddleworth Rangers), Josh Bradbury (Saddleworth Rangers), Kiel Lancashire, Adam Walker (both Oldham St Anne’s) and Darren Nixon (Waterhead Warriors).
