BEST FOOT FORWARD: Oldham’s Adam Neal confronts two Crusaders defenders.
SCOTT Naylor emerged from a victorious Oldham dressing room at Wrexham and said: “That was good; that’s why we do it !
“This has to be one of the happiest and most fulfilling moments since I’ve been at the club.
“When they beat us twice at Whitebank we were lacking a little bit mentally, but we came here this time with absolutely no fear whatsoever.
“Our aggression was controlled, but right on the limit. Our attitude and effort were stunning. We controlled the game in the second half. We played as we wanted to play and we thoroughly deserved the win.
“It was a great team performance. The lads have been unbelievably committed to the cause and they deserve all the credit. To do what they did against a quality side on their own pitch was absolutely great. I couldn’t possibly be any prouder of them.
“It was nice to see Richard Lepori back in the Oldham jersey. He will only get better as he settles in.
“We’ve also signed two new players in Elliott Liku and Will Hope to strengthen the squad for the run-in.
“The lads didn’t want to miss a tackle and our determination in defence was so good that it made it almost impossible to beat us once we went 19-6 up. The lads are totally committed.”
Crusaders boss Anthony Murray said: “Oldham are tough up the middle and they played to their strengths. They are top of the league because they are the most consistent side in the division, and I’m not going to be too downhearted at losing to a team like that.”
