On-loan teenagers take the applause

JUST as he had promised, Scott Naylor delved into his squad to field a new-look Oldham side that included two loaned 19 year olds in half-back David Hewitt and front-row forward Elliott Liku.
He also called in Tom Ashton at left-centre, in only his third appearance and his first, due to injury, for nearly four months.
Coach Naylor said: “They all did well with Elliot (Liku) making his debut for us and having to get used to a completely new environment. Hemel isn’t always an easy place to come to. Fans will remember that we have been here in the past and lost.
“We didn’t start to my liking, but we grew into the game and then had long spells when we were very good indeed.
“We spoke about a few things at half time and we then went out for the second half and played like we’ve been playing for the past two months. It’s nine wins in a row now and another one ticked off. That’s good.”
