Gee waits on red card verdict
Date published: 21 August 2015
SAMMY Gee, Oldham’s vice-captain, has been charged with Grade ‘C’ punching following his dismissal at Newcastle.
Sent off for the first time in a semi-pro career spanning more than 100 games, 28-year-old utility man Gee has until 11am next Tuesday to submit an early guilty plea. The recommended sanction in that case would be a ban of two to three matches, but his good record may work in his favour.
He is free to play in Sunday’s home game against Barrow, but the September 6 game would be hit by a ban.
Thunder’s Macauley Hallet, also shown red in the same incident, is charged with a Grade ‘D’ punching offence, which carries a recommended ban of three to five matches.
