Briscoe to make a big impression

SCOTT Naylor has high hopes of Oldham new boy Craig Briscoe - who faces a big test against his former Barrow team mates at Craven Park on Sunday.
The 22-year-old, Wigan-born back row man signed for Leigh as a 16 year old and played 52 senior games for them before two good seasons at Barrow. Though offered a new deal for this season he chose to return to the Championship with Roughyeds.
Now, says coach Naylor, he is relishing the prospect of facing his former club for the first time.
Based on Briscoe’s debut at Keighley and in pre-season, Naylor is his new man to make a big impact in a Roughyeds jersey. He has already played Championship rugby with Leigh and Barrow.
Naylor said: “I liked what I saw of Craig when he played against us for Barrow last season and I’ve been really happy with him since he joined us. He’s going to be a very good player for us in the Championship.”
