Leigh Centurions 48, Oldham RL 18
OLDHAM scored three tries, but weren't able to prevent hosts Leigh Centurions from sweeping to a 48-18 victory in the Kingstone Press Championship.
Tom Ashton, Adam Clay and skipper Lewis Palfrey went over for the Roughyeds at Leigh Sports Village. Palfrey (two) and Clay kicked the goals.
However, big-spending Centurions rattled in nine tries of their own in front of 3,371 spectators.
Replacement Sam Hopkins secured a hat-trick, Adam Higson bagged a brace, while Jonathan Pownall, Lee Smith, Fuifui Moimoi, and Reni Maitua notched one apiece.
Martyn Ridyard landed four goals and Smith two as the home side recorded their first league win of the season at the expense of Scott Naylor's Roughyeds.
