Saturday kick-off for Roughyeds’ fifth-round clash

OLDHAM RL Club have confirmed the club’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fifth-round tie against Hull KR will be at the KC Lightstream Stadium on April 16, kick-off 2pm.

Tickets will be priced at £12 adults and £6 concessions when bought in advance, rising to £15 adults and £10 concessions on the day. They will go on sale inside the Whitebank ground at 9.30am on Monday and will be available next week from 9.30am-1.30pm on Monday and Tuesday, 9.30am-4pm on Wednesday and Friday. It’s shared-gate cup-tie, so season tickets aren’t valid and it's an all-pay match.

Roughyeds chairman Chris Hamilton said: “Rovers would have preferred to play on Friday night, but in fairness to them they didn’t make a formal request because they realised it would have been unfair to us and to our supporters.

“They think Saturday is next best for their fans. We are happy with that and, by coincidence, we play the following Saturday too, at Whitehaven, so we will still have a full week’s turnround as usual.”
