Oldham RL 24, Swinton Lions 25
OLDHAM wasted a 20 points half-time lead as they suffered an agonising defeat at the hands of Swinton Lions in the 'Summer Bash' at Blackpool.
The Roughyeds seemed on course for two vital Kingstone Press Championship points after a sparkling display in the opening 40 minutes.
However, Lions roared back to claim the spoils thanks to a terrific fightback beside the seaside.
Kenny Hughes, Danny Langtree, Adam Files and Adam Clay went in for Oldham while skipper Lewis Palfrey, restored to the team after sitting out the Halifax defeat, kicked four goals.
Macauley Hallett, Chris Atkin, Rhodri Lloyd and Matty Beharrell dived in for the Lions. Atkin landed three goals and Beharrell one, with the latter adding a vital drop goal.
