Gary Middlehurst . . . marked landmark appearance with a try.
Batley Bulldogs 42, Oldham RL 18
GARY Middlehurst scored a try on his 100th career start, but he could not prevent Oldham slipping to defeat at Batley in the Kingstone Press Championship.
The Roughyeds trailed 24-6 at half-time, and although they crossed on twice in the second half, the Bulldogs ran out convincing winners at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium.
Kenny Hughes, Sam Wood and Middlehurst went in for Oldham, with captain Lewis Palfrey kicking three goals.
Batley touched down seven times in total through Luke Blake, James Brown (two), Wayne Reittie, Dominic Brambani (two) and Greg Minikin. Pat Walker added five goals, with Keegan Hirst and James Davey one apiece.
The Roughyeds remain second-from-bottom in the table, ahead of Workington Town.
