TOM ASHTON . . . beset by injuries
UNLUCKY Tom Ashton, whose time with Oldham RL Club has been beset with injuries, has played his last game for the club.
The former Sheffield Eagles centre was on a contract to November 30 this year, but it has been terminated by mutual consent.
Said Oldham chairman Chris Hamilton: "It became apparent that Tom would struggle to play any part this season because of his ongoing knee injury. It has all been very amicable.
"We'll help Tom with his rehab and we hope he'll have better luck in the future."
Jonny Pownall, one of the two Leigh Centurions players who joined Oldham last week on a month's loan, has gone back to Leigh.
He was taken ill after signing for Oldham and never played a game for the Roughyeds.
