Home woe for Roughyeds

KENNY HUGHES . . . two tries in vain
Oldham RL 30, Workington Town 32
OLDHAM RL crossed five times - but finished up on the wrong end of a narrow defeat at home to Kingstone Press Championship basement boys Workington Town at Bower Fold.
Trailing by eight points at the break, Scott Naylor's side were unable to bridge the gap in the second half as they slipped to a 16th league loss of the season.
Kenny Hughes (two), Richard Lepori, Gareth Owen and Michael Ward dived in for Oldham, with new signing Dave Hewitt adding five goals.
Town also scored five tries in securing a league double over the Roughyeds. Tom Walker (two), Marc Shackley, Jarrod Summut and Declan Hulme went in, but crucially Summut struck half-a-dozen goals.
