TRYING TO MAKE PROGRESS . . . Charlie Whitfield (Failsworth) has the ball in his possession during a match against Saddleworth
AN action-packed school Year Eight rugby league tournament was staged at Waterhead Academy's Counthill site.
It was an exciting afternoon, with no quarter given by the boys.
Carrying on their rich tradition in the sport, Saddleworth emerged victorious.
A determined set of Failsworth players finished as runners-up, with Royton and Crompton in third place after a good effort.
