THE Oldham Sports Centre was the venue for an action-packed senior schools' badminton tournament.

Competitors from schools across the borough converged on the state-of-the-art new facility.

Newman eventually won the boys' tournament, while Saddleworth were the runners-up.

In the girls' event, Saddleworth triumphed, just ahead of runners-up Failsworth.
