THE plush new Oldham Sports Centre pool was the stage for the latest Oldham Senior Schools' Swimming Championships.
At the end of a thrilling day of action, the team from Crompton House emerged as the girls' overall winners, while Hulme were the top team in the boys' event.
Crompton House's teams won three of the four age groups in the girls' events - the Year Seven, nine and 10/11s.
The Year Eight section was won by Hulme school's team.
To cap a terrific days' sport, Crompton House's team of Grace Booth, Emily Unsworth, Mia Radcliffe-Dudley and Kimberley Burston also won the prestigious Brown Shield competition, which is made up of events across all four age groups.
The spotlight turns to the boys' competitions in next Wednesday's Youth Club spread.

Year Seven: 1, Crompton House; 2, Hulme; 3, Blue Coat. Year Eight: 1, Hulme; 2, Crompton house; 3, Saddleworth. Year Nine: 1, Crompton House; 2, Saddleworth; 3, Hulme. Years 10/11: 1, Crompton house; 2, Hulme; 3, Blue Coat. Brown Shield winners: Crompton House.
