BOWL FINAL PLACE SECURED . . . Oldham RUFC under-14s line up
OLDHAM RUFC'S talented under-14s team recovered from a half-time deficit to beat Rossendale 29-12 in their crunch Lancashire RFU Bowl semi-final clash at Manor Park.
Full-back Will Lunt scored an early try for the hosts, only for Connor Bentley's converted score to hand Rossendale a 7-5 advantage at the interval.
Into the second period and Ryan Clayton drove over the line for a try, soon followed by a terrific touchdown from captain Max Walsh.
Player of the match Harrison Green then burst through at least four tackles to score a fine try, which was converted by James Collinson.
GREAT
It looked all over with Oldham 22-7 in front, but Rossendale's outside centre Ross Grieves scored a great try to give his side hope.
However, Toby Ryland-Jones added a super score late on, which was converted by Collinson, to wrap up a great victory.
