THERE was plenty of exciting action at the Oldham Schools senior boys' tennis tournament at Alexandra Park.

Teams of players from schools across the borough produced some terrific play during the course of the day.

Saddleworth school's team were the eventual winners, closely followed by Blue Coat and Crompton House.

A junior tournament then followed the 'main event', and this time Crompton House triumphed, with Saddleworth coming second and Blue Coat third.

Results -

Senior event: 1, Saddleworth; 2, Blue Coat; 3, Crompton House.

Junior event: 1, Crompton House; 2, Saddleworth; 3, Blue Coat.
