Nathan’s nice little earner
Date published: 27 August 2008
NATHAN Boote was financially better off after the Inter-League Colts Trophy final at Moorside CC.
Dad, David, challenged his son to score 20 runs and, as an incentive, he would receive £10.
The Uppermill batsman ended up 40 not out— but he still only got a tenner for his efforts.
Apparently, he would have been handed a crisp £20 note for reaching his half-century.
Boote’s display with the bat was one of the highlights for the Saddleworth and District League under-18s, who lost by three wickets to the Lancashire County League.
