OLDHAM under-14s have received a plum home draw against Tameside in the quarter-finals of this season’s Greater Manchester Schools’ Talbot Cup.
The local youngsters were fortunate enough to receive a first-round bye in the county knockout competition and they will have plenty of time to hone their skills before a cup clash which is scheduled to take place on or before Saturday, January 31 2009.
The full quarter-final draw is: Oldham v Tameside, Bolton v Manchester, Trafford or Wigan v Salford, Stockport v Bury.
The under-14s season will begin in earnest when they take on Stockport in their opening Greater Manchester Schools’ League game on Saturday, September 20.
