Joe leads Werneth charge

WERNETH under-18s have captured the CLL’s Taylor Cup after defeating Rochdale by 43 runs in the final.
The Coppice club made 137 all out before dismissing Rochdale for 94.
Werneth’s Joe Taylor collected the Joan Tench Trophy for being player-of-the-match after scoring 27 runs, taking three wickets for 19 runs and holding two outstanding catches.
Rochdale beat Oldham by nine wickets to clinch the league title for the Whittaker Cup.
They restricted Oldham to 60 for seven from 12 overs in a rain- affected match. Rochdale scored 62 for one in reply.
Werneth, who lost to Bury in their final game, were third in the table while Royton, Crompton and Oldham all finished in the bottom half.
