CHADDY Hoppers and Moorside met international opposition when a group of youngsters from Malta spent a week in this country.

Hoppers’ under-nines Green team won 6-2, with two goals apiece from Patrick Scott, Jakub Dinnen and Jac Bromby.

Josh Lindsay scored a hat-trick for under-12s Blue, who recorded a 7-1 victory. Further goals came from Nathan Randle, Zac Douglas, Dan Ratcliff and Matthew Queenan.

And Moorside under-13s made it a treble for the town teams thanks to a 6-1 success.

Despite the defeats and the weather, the tourists enjoyed their visit. As well as playing other friendly matches, they also managed to cram in a couple of Premier League games before heading home.
