THIS is the all-conquering junior team from Saddleworth Golf Club who became the club’s first team to pick up a major Manchester Alliance trophy when they won the Williams BMW Challenge.
The talented youngsters came through five rounds to beat Horwich in the final at neutral Lowes Park. And their success in lifting the trophy has been added to with a Pride in Oldham award nomination for their sporting achievement.
Dave Pullen, the club’s vice-captain and whose son Steve captain’s the team, said: “The club is delighted to have been nominated.
“We are all very proud of the team for their season-long effort in the competition and it shows that there is some real talent among young golfers in this area.”
