R.O.C.S are rocked by red-hot Rockettes

UPPERMILL Rockettes are the team to catch in the under-16s division of the Oldham Girls League.
They assumed command after a superb 5-0 win over nearest rivals R.O.C.S.
Becki Hall put them ahead after just 25 seconds, with Kim Buckley adding a second in the third minute.
Lucy Hurst made it 3-0 close to half-time, before scoring her second and the team’s fourth. It was left to Buckley to wrap up victory.
Megan Ashton hit seven goals for Rockettes under-13s in a 15-0 defeat of Chadderton Park. Ellen Bergin (three), Jayme Butler-Jones (three) and Kiera Royales (two) did the rest of the damage.
o R.O.C.S FC and Heyside Angels are neck and neck in the under-14s division.
Level on points after eight matches, R.O.C.S hold sway by virtue of a superior goal-difference.
The Angels boosted their ‘goals for’ column after a 17-0 defeat of Meltham Athletic.
Abbie Andrews led the way with six goals, Katie Jones struck four times, Rhema Mears notched a hat-trick, while Elysia Broome and Jessica Cooke scored two each.
R.O.C.S, meanwhile, remain in the lead role after enjoying a 3-0 win over Oldham Athletic Girls.
HEYSIDE Angels Inter are three points ahead of club colleagues, the Clarets, in the under-11s division.
The Clarets narrowed the gap after a 3-1 defeat of Oldham Athletic — Alicia Stretton (two) and Ella Milovanovic got the goals — and Inter’s 1-1 draw against Curzon Ashton. Jade Hughes scored for Heyside.
Angels under-14s are within touching distance of the top two after recording a 4-0 victory over Uppermill — Natalie Giblin, Sophie Holden, Katie O’Boyle and Kinsa Hmami were on target — but under-13s Angels went down 4-1 to leaders Harpurhey United. Sophie Chester scored the consolation.
Blossom Halkyard helped herself to four goals as Clarets under-16s overcame Uppermill Rockettes IIs 11-0.
Lucy Shaylor (two), Lauren Parkinson (two), Emma Harte, Lily Prince and Jessica Bromley made up the tally.
LAUREN Steel scored twice as R.O.C.S under-14s stayed clear of the chasing pack.

DESPITE leading on two occasions, Oldham Athletic Girls under-16s were on the wrong end of a 5-4 scoreline against Droylsden Juniors.
Ashley Ellems (two), Shelby Newton and Ashlie Ball were Athletic’s scorers.
The under-13s recorded a 4-0 win over Denton Town in a friendly match. Lois Daniels (two), Keeley Scott and Abbie Porter got the goals.
