Jubilant Angels are cup crackers

HEYSIDE Angels dominated the Oldham Girls League Cup finals.
Players, officials and supporters celebrated as the club claimed four trophies at Chapel Road.
The under-16s, with goals from Vikki Melia (two), Lois Jacobs and Rachel McHugh, overcame Uppermill Rockettes 4-0.
Rheema Mears hit a hat-trick, Abbie Andrews scored twice and Katie Jones got the other as the under-14s turned on the style to beat Moston Juniors 6-1.
Under-13s Inter were leading 2-1 against Harpurhey United with 10 minutes to go — Leoni Harland got both goals — but they ended up losing 3-2.
But a Jade Hughes effort clinched a 1-0 win for under-11s Inter against Uppermill Rockettes, and the under-10s Navys swept aside Harpurhey United 9-0, with Molly Taylor (four), Caitlin Patterson (two), Ella Rigby, Lavinia Whitehead and Emily Kay getting the goals.
o OLDHAM Athletic Girls under-14s made a great start to the New Year with a 5-1 win over Rochdale.
Keisha Harvey led the way with a hat-trick, while Nicole Scott and Feiruz Abdullah got the others.
Ashlie Ball also weighed in with a treble as the under-16s triumphed 5-3 over Heyside Angels Clarets. Shelby Newton and Ashley Ellams made up the tally, while Lucy Shaylor, Emma Harte and Lily Prince replied.
But the club’s under-12s went down 4-1 to Harpurhey United.

County Cup
AVRO under-13s are closing in on a place in the County Cup final.
The youngsters are through to the last eight of the competition after a comprehensive 7-0 success at Delamere.
Kane Hughes, Nathan Brookes and Jake Jackson scored two each and Jack Rafferty got the other as Avro dominated their opponents.
Rochdale and Oldham Youth League
KAREEM JAMES was the star of the show as Heyside Juniors under-13s proved too strong for Rochdale St Clements in the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League.
The ace sharp-shooter struck four times in an 8-0 win.
Ross Morrison, with two, Joe Gledhill and Lewis Ryan got the other goals.
FAILSWORTH Dynamos under-16s had Nathan Martin, Liam Cashmore and Richard Balcerzak on target in a 3-1 defeat of Springhead.
Tameside Sunday League
GOALS from Jordan Griffiths, Jake Kershaw, Luke Cosgrove and Jamie Kilburn (two) were to no avail as Uppermill under-14s went down 7-5 to AFC Clayton in the Tameside Sunday League.
CALLUM Walsh bagged a brace as Failsworth Dynamos under-12s picked up a point in a 2-2 draw with Clayton Villa.

Huddersfield & District Junior League
3D DYNAMOS under-15s bowed out of the Huddersfield and District Junior League Cup after they succumbed 6-1 to table-topping Batley.
With all OIdham Council grounds deemed unfit, the tie was switched to West Yorkshire.
But 3D, who hadn’t kicked a ball in anger since early December and were down to a bare 11 after two players limped off, only had an Alex Kelly strike to celebrate.
