Double delight for Oldham

OLDHAM Netball Club under-14’s enjoyed a 63-17 win over Didsbury in the North West Regional League.
In a one-sided match, Oldham were able to give their whole squad a run-out after they got off to a great start, leading 17-4 at the end of the first quarter.
Player of the match was Harriet Gill who played the first two quarters at centre and then played the final quarter at goal attack, scoring 10 goals from 10 attempts. Ellie Wild also stood out in defence.
The squad was: Charlotte Preston, Shannon Westwood, Rachel Bolton, Harriet Gill, Ashley Cruse, Ellie Wild, Ashley Stansfield, Beth Lovell, Becky Greenwood, Linda Onouha and Steph Rice.
The under-16’s also had a decisive win over Didsbury 48-15 an coaches Pam Hazelton and Jackie Reid were also able to give the whole squad a chance to shine.
Current England under-17 player Kathryn Turner played well and had the games best shooting statistics at 84-per-cent while Becky Smith and Charlotte Hannah made up a solid defence to stop the threat from Didsbury
