A MAKESHIFT Athletic team was unlucky to lose 1-0 at North-West Conference Puma Youth Alliance pacesetters Wrexham.
Decimated by injury, coach Tony Philliskirk’s side was a mishmash of schoolboys and trialists. He was even forced to call up one under-15 centre of excellence player.
The visitors went down to a first-half penalty, but Philliskirk was still delighted with his side’s display.
Athletic felt aggrieved after a spot-kick appeal for a foul on Philip McGrath was turned down.
Ryan Brook struck the underside of the crossbar, while they created two or three other clear-cut chances.
