3D DYNAMOS are celebrating a £1,700 grant from Saddleworth Parish Council.
The Saddleworth-based junior football club has used the cash to set up a football school for youngsters aged between four and six years.
The money has been spent to buy equipment such as ladders, hoops, cones, bibs, balls and nets as well as warm weather coats and kit for the Wednesday evening sessions at Saddleworth School.
“The emphasis is about having fun at that age which is why we have our mascot Deano The Dynamo,” explained club spokesman Mick Milovanovic.
3D Dynamos runs 15 juniors teams between the ages of seven and 17 and their most famous former player is Andrew Driver, who plays for Scottish club Hearts.
In the last 12 months they have seen four players snapped up by league clubs with Richard Wilson and Ben Hughes joining Manchester City, Saul Milovanovic Liverpool and Devon Matthews Stockport County.
